Ramen, manga, and sushi! Oh my! Where to Begin? Japan is by far the cleanest country I have ever visited. Honestly, it makes me embarrassed as a New Yorker to see the streets squeaky clean, and the thing is, there are no trash cans anywhere. I walked around for about an hour with the wrapper of some food in my hand. There was nothing in sight. But moving away from that "trash" topic, (See what I did there) I need to talk food. The food here is crazy, bonkers, up the wall good. You can get these little sticks with balls of rice doused in yummy sauce, on the street for like, a dollar. (about 100 yen.) Also, food here is not like Japanese food is depicted back in NY. This food is completely different. They serve roasted sparrow-bones and all, on a stick, at the market. Another interesting menu item was little octopus on a stick, but for some reason, they put quail eggs, IN THEIR HEADS! Then you eat the whole thing. But there was some meals that were more appealing, such as ramen, shumai, green tea mochi, really good fried chicken, and lastly, fried shrimp tempura on a stick. So delicious. So the places I have visited are Tokyo, Hakone, Takayama, Kanazawa, and currently, I'm in Kyoto. But the last thing is that I went to the national manga museum, and got the best manga,(death note) and saw stacks upon stacks of books. Thanks for reading, now onward I go.
